Here’s a tutorial demonstrating how to make an easy spider cupcake for any Halloween party.
Growing up, I loved baking. In my middle school and high school years, I loved baking a Duncan Hines yellow cake and smothering it with canned chocolate fudge icing. I’d even eat a leftover slice for breakfast the following day.
The whole idea of this video is to show you a QUICK, cute, Halloween cupcake. I bake from scratch all the time, so it’s not very time consuming for me, but I know it seems like it takes forever for those who don’t do it every day. Fear not! Here’s an easy recipe that tastes a little more home-made than just a box of mix, water, oil, and eggs.
Yellow Cupcakes with Chocolate Fudge Icing
- 1 yellow cake mix – $1.04
- 1 box INSTANT vanilla pudding – $0.69
- 1 c milk – $0.18
- 1 c oil – $0.33
- 4 eggs, lightly beaten – $0.48
- chocolate fudge icing – $1.69
*I purchased the store brand for ALL ingredients.
Total cost for cake and icing: $4.41
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cupcake tins with paper or foil liners. Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Fill cupcake tins 2/3 full. Bake 18-19 minutes until toothpick comes out clean and tops are golden brown.
When cupcakes have cooled completely, ice them with chocolate fudge icing. Add eyes and legs.
