You may not know this, but I grew up riding on the back of my dad’s Harley. As a kid with no fear, I took to riding like pro. My husband became interested in bikes in our 20s and I loved riding with him, too.
When Inna wanted to order a motorcycle cake for Shawn, I was stoked!
Flavor: chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream filling; outside iced in vanilla buttercream
For the 2-D rendering of the motorcycle, I started with a photo of a Honda Goldwing. I cut a thin piece of black fondant to match the outline to create a backing for the rest of the bike. I let that dry overnight.
Using just my fingers, I molded each part of the bike individually and attached them to the backing with a dab of water. I brushed clear piping gel on the parts that needed to be shiny. All of the chrome pieces were made with white fondant, and I painted them silver after they had a chance to dry.
