Cake Flavor:
Both tiers: red velvet cake with vanilla buttercream
Shian wanted something a little fancy for her 18th birthday cake, so this Chanel design was perfect.
I iced both tiers in vanilla buttercream and added the black fondant stripes and white fondant band to the top. Both the bow and pearl bracelet toppers were made out of fondant a few days in advance so they could dry.
I used pink gumpaste to make the two roses.
I used a lace mat to achieve that lacy border around the bottom tier. I had a hard time finding black candles, so I bought some blue ones. I used black petal dust to get the right color and pressed them into a ball of fondant to secure them to the cake base.
