Chantal is an architect and wanted something cool and unique for her birthday party this year. She loved the look of the “concrete” cakes and trusted me to make one, even though I hadn’t done it before.
Usually, the goal is to make a cake that’s as perfect and smooth as possible. But if you’ve ever worked with concrete, you know that’s not the case. Trav and I spent a couple of months back in 2012 putting in a super professional concrete and flagstone path at our house, so I KNOW concrete. Anyway, I had to constantly remind myself to leave some imperfections on this one.
