I don’t offer “marble” as a cake flavor because I personally do not like it. But I do like how this marbled buttercream turned out! I used a similar technique for a leopard print and am looking forward to more of this creative buttercream work in the future.
At some point after this wedding, I delivered a groom’s cake to another venue. The same catering team was there, and I was met with this same cake stand on the cake table. I didn’t recall there being any issues before, so I made sure everything was level and attempted to place the cake on the stand.
To my horror, the whole marble slab just slid off of the gold support. Thankfully, I caught it and put it back in place. I had to recruit one of the musicians next to me to hold the back of the stand while I slid the cake into place. Now I always remember to check the stability of the stand, even if I’ve used it before.
